El Paso lies in West Texas (United States). It ranks 6th among the largest cities in Texas and the 19th-largest city in the United States. Its metropolitan area covers all of El Paso County, whose population in the 2010 census was 800,647.
El Paso has one of the largest military complexes of the United States Army. Population of South Asians is in the range of 1-2%.

Desi Attraction

The park is the largest urban park in America and one of the main attractions for the desi visitors. It is not quite difficult locating a desi restaurant. The mountains facilitate hiking, mountain biking and mountain climbing throughout the  year.  The zoo is home to about 220 species of animals. It has the critically endangered desi Amur leopard .There are other desi animals to be seen in the zoo which give the visitors a feel of their own land. The zoo is not only a display of animals but a step towards wild life protection.

General Attraction

A very popular museum is to be found in the campus of the University of Texas at El Paso.  The museum has an extraordinary collection of pottery. The gardens of the museum grounds feature over 600 species of native plants. These gardens are a mix of beauty and water conservation which has been aptly done using native plants. There is an important place (Home) which is a combination of the local adobe style combined with Greek revival details. El Paso also has a museum which has a social task to perform. It educates people and spreads message regarding their social responsibilities. There is a unique Museum which pays special tribute to military aviation and reminds us all of the significant role these airplanes, their pilots and support crews played in securing El Paso’s freedom. It displays historic aircraft of World War II. There is another museum which provides information about uniforms, equipment, photographs, guns, vehicles, airplanes, boats and documents depicting historical and current date sector operations throughout the United States. The museum takes us into the history of the U.S. Border Patrol from the beginning in the Old West, through Prohibition, World War II, into the high-tech Patrol of today. A very unique of its own kind museum in El Paso has become an important facility for the study of science; it provides exciting exhibits about electricity, bending light, optical illusions, magnetism and much more. The zoo is though small but very curious for children to go. It can be both fun and educational for your children.

Moving around

El Paso is well connected through airport, highways, market roads, drives and passenger rail. Within El Paso city, a natural gas powered buses network operates all around. El Paso’s Metro service is a fairly cheap and convenient way to get around downtown. The bus fares running around $2 for day passes and 50 cents for students and children. Trolleys are even more modestly priced at a quarter for standard fare. There are bus lines serving all parts of the city, generally running every 20 to 45 minutes (sometimes more on weekends). A more convenient way to get around El Paso is probably renting a car. There is not much of parking related issue
